1. Information We Collect
- Account data: email address and authentication credentials you provide when registering.
- Billing data: purchase records and the amount of credits bought. Card details are handled directly by our payment processors and are never stored on our servers.
- Usage data: API requests, token counts, model selection, and timestamps used for metering and billing.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and log information collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process payments and meter your credit usage.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, and service updates.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. AI Request Content
When you send a request through our API, the content is forwarded to the third-party model provider you selected in order to generate a response. We process request and response content as needed to deliver and meter the Service. Third-party providers handle that content under their own privacy and data-use policies.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate the Service, and only as described below.
- Payment processors, to complete transactions.
- Third-party AI providers, to fulfil the API requests you make.
- Infrastructure and analytics providers that help us run and secure the Service.
- Authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights and users.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as required to meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations. Usage logs are retained for a limited period for billing accuracy and security, then deleted or anonymized.
6. Security
We use technical and organizational measures—including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure credential handling—to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and respond promptly to incidents.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@opencodex.hk.
