1. The Service
OpenCodex provides a unified, OpenAI-compatible API that routes requests to multiple third-party large language model providers. We sell prepaid usage credits that are consumed when you make API requests, metered per token according to the rates published on our pricing page.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials and API keys secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and API keys.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or suspected security breach.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
3. Credits and Billing
Access to the API is funded with prepaid credits. Credits are purchased through our payment processors and deducted in real time based on token usage and the per-model rates in effect at the time of the request.
Prices are shown before purchase. We may change pricing prospectively; changes do not affect credits already purchased. Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to engage in unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity. You are also responsible for complying with the usage policies of the underlying model providers your requests are routed to.
- No illegal content, fraud, malware, or attempts to breach security.
- No generating content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
- No reselling or sublicensing the Service without our written permission.
- No automated abuse, scraping, or attempts to circumvent rate limits and metering.
5. Third-Party Models
The Service routes requests to third-party AI providers. We do not control and are not responsible for the content those models generate. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, branding, and documentation, is owned by OpenCodex and protected by applicable laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service. As between you and us, you retain rights to the inputs you submit and the outputs you receive, subject to third-party provider terms.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
